Playing, loosening, intuiting 🤍

In my drawing practice, I am drawn to real softness of hand. Barely holding the pen, with a soft wrist, allowing the pen to dance and stumble around the paper. I just love the jagged, interrupted lines and random dots. There's just something so pure and beautiful in them. 🥹

I work in a similar way on canvas - I like to work with long brushes that I gently hold at the very end to allow them this freedom and unpredictability.

This made me think about my attitude to life itself - I also like to hold it gently, sway and flow in its natural rhythm. Never insinsting, never demanding. Soft, open, and trusting that it will take me exactly where I need to be (and it always does).🤍

I generally really struggle with creating small paintings, and usually end up not liking them. 🐛
But there's something about this little thing. 🤍

This cutie is only 45x45 cm and came to life purely because I don't like to waste canvas. 🤭 How lucky!
