I am so in love with this painting! It's probably my favourite from the Fragments series. There's something so raw and pure about it. 🤌

Fun fact: my pet name for it is 'Mickey Mouse'. Can you see why? It's funny as I don't normally look for or see any real objects in my art, and it's not that I do here. There's just this cartoony feel that I get from it, and Mickey Mouse just popped into my head after I saw it stretched. 🤷‍♀️😄

You’re probably thinking: „She’s lucky, she

You’re probably thinking: „She’s lucky, she gets to do what she enjoys, but I’m stuck doing mundane work to make money.“ Well, let me tell you, I don’t make a whole lot of money of my art at the moment. If I was basing my decision on financial stability, believe me, I would not decide to become an artist. 😅

I made the change simply because I could no longer justify to myself doing something that doesn’t bring me joy, and leaves me exhausted, frustrated and angry instead. I hated getting up in the morning. I hated Sundays. I hated every minute of my working time and I hated myself for allowing it to continue.

After I made the decision to quit, a lot of people were telling me: „You’re so brave, I would love to quit too, but I don’t have the guts to quit without any backup plan.“ I wasn’t brave, just desperate. Desperate to feel alive. To do something that makes sense.

So here I am. I don’t have a plan. I don’t know how I will ‚make a living‘ now. The only thing I know for certain is that I will never ever go back to doing something I hate. And that’s as scary as it is freeing.
